Meet Jessica Smith, Parts Manager in Heyburn, Celebrating 10 Years with Agri-Service
In 2014, Jessica Smith joined Agri-Service as a parts associate. Over the past decade, she has become an integral part of the Heyburn team. Now serving as the Parts Manager in the local store, Jessica is known for her mechanical expertise, friendly demeanor, and dedication to creating a welcoming environment for customers and coworkers alike.
A Passion for Agriculture and Mechanics
Jessica’s connection to agriculture runs deep. Growing up in Declo, Idaho, she spent her high school years and beyond working on a local ranch. She learned to drive tractors, bale hay, and ride horses, gaining hands-on experience that shaped her love for the industry.
Her interest in mechanics started early, thanks to her father, who believed in teaching her how to be self-reliant. “He taught me everything,” Jessica said. “If I didn’t know how to fix something, I’d figure it out.” That mindset has stayed with her, whether she’s troubleshooting an issue herself or asking Agri-Service technicians for advice.
Another positive influence in Jessica’s life is her mother, a true fighter in every sense of the word. Years ago, her mom faced stage 4 cancer with unwavering courage, defying the odds to beat it. Though the treatments have left her in a wheelchair, her resilience and willpower remain an inspiration to Jessica and her family. “She’s shown me what it means to be strong and to always give your best in life, no matter how hard things get,” Jessica shared. Her mother’s example has profoundly shaped Jessica’s outlook, driving her to approach every challenge with grit and gratitude. “I owe so much to her—she fought the hardest fight to stay here for us, and she still does to this day.”
Jessica also credits her grandfather, a former parts manager at a tractor shop, for unintentionally inspiring her career path. She fondly recalls going on parts runs with him as a child, an experience that planted the seed for her eventual role at Agri-Service.
Building a Legacy at Agri-Service
Starting as a parts associate, Jessica spent seven to eight years learning the ropes before stepping into her current role as Parts Manager. Over the years, she has built strong relationships with customers and coworkers, earning their trust through her expertise and authentic friendship.
One memorable experience involved a long-time customer with an older machine. “He’s a total cowboy,” Jessica shared. “He likes to set his part on the counter and have you know exactly what he needs.” Jessica’s ability to identify the right part on the spot left a lasting impression. “He told me he appreciates that I always take such good care of him,” she said.
This dedication is at the core of Jessica’s approach to customer service. “My goal is for customers to want to come back because they know they’ll be taken care of,” she explained.
A Supportive Workplace and Community
For Jessica, Agri-Service isn’t just a job—it’s a place where coworkers feel like family. She also appreciates the company’s flexibility and support, which allow her to stay actively involved in her children’s lives.
Jessica’s three boys, ages 14, 11, and 5, are her pride and joy. Her family has lived in Declo their entire lives, and her kids even attend the same school Jessica went to. Between coaching and attending their sporting events, Jessica stays busy, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Life Beyond Work
When Jessica isn’t at Agri-Service or cheering on her boys from the sidelines, she enjoys spending time outdoors. Camping, hunting, and fishing are among her favorite pastimes. In the summer, you can often find her playing with a local softball league.

As Jessica marks 10 years with Agri-Service, her passion for the job and the people she works with continues to shine. Her mechanical know-how, commitment to customer service, and warm personality make her an invaluable part of the Heyburn team.
